I was honored to attend the Building a Coordinated Community Responses to Elder Abuse training on Friday (9/29). The City of Charleston Mayor’s Office on Aging was awarded this opportunity and the training and information was eye opening. As I sat through the training, I started wondering how are leaders (and organizations) supporting their employees that are caretakers. Is there an environment of concern and caring? Whether we like it or not, we are not aging backwards and we never know when it will be a spouse, child, or other family member that may have to take care of us.
