Your organization has decided to implement a diversity and inclusion initiative. Great! Wonderful! Marvelous! Why?
You most likely paused at the “why” question. Why has your organization decided to start a diversity and inclusion initiative? If the response is based on EEO policies, that is a problem. If the response is based on politically correct information found on a HR website, that is a problem.
With any diversity and inclusion initiative, you want to be sincere in the goals and objectives. You want those who are the focus of the initiative to feel wanted and welcomed. You do not want them to feel as if they are just a number in your diversity and inclusion stats. The initiative must have a solid foundation. Start with why. #diversity #inclusion
